With the takeover of the Babyzen brand by Norwegians Stokke, the brand decided to release a new version of the YOYO stroller.
The YOYO3 stroller, the latest version of the YOYO stroller, was launched worldwide in August 2024.
And with a host of new features that make the YOYO stroller even more powerful, comfortable and safe.
But what about it?
What are the differences between the YOYO 2 and the YOYO 3?
I’ll explain it all in this detailed article!
What’s new in the YOYO 3 stroller by Stokke ?
This new 2024 version of the Stroller corrects a few shortcomings and also adds new features that make it even more practical for everyday use.
I’ve identified 7 improvements and differences from version 2, which I’ll detail below !

Let’s get down to the differences between YOYO 2 and YOYO 3 !
A canopy extension to better protect baby from the sun
The first improvement is an excellent idea!
The canopy has been extended in the 0+ and 6+ versions to provide better protection from the sun.
Even if the YOYO 2 provided good coverage for baby in the 0+ and 6+ versions, now with a larger canopy your baby won’t be bothered by the sun’s rays when you’re out and about!
✅ A big plus that makes all the difference! Bravo to Stokke for this great idea.
You can always complete the sun protection with a YOYO parasol if you wish.
The addition of a ventilation window at the top of the stroller to keep baby cooler !
Another excellent idea !
It can get hot in the stroller (and that goes for all non-stokke brand strollers), and this new version of the YOYO adds a ventilated area at the top of the stroller at canopy level.
Perfect for keeping baby cool on hot days !

Greater capacity for the lower storage basket
This new version of the YOYO stroller increases the weight of your baby from 5kg to 10kg.
And all this without increasing the weight of the YOYO stroller, making it as light as ever.
A new color for the Stroller !
The Stokke brand didn’t wait long before releasing a sublime new color for the YOYO 3.
A collaboration with children’s brand Bonpoint.
As with the Air France color, now you can also dress up your stroller with the YOYO x Bonpoint color.
This new version is only available on the official stokke website or from official retailers.
You can now personalize your stroller with 9 different YOYO colors.
Don’t worry, you can still use your YOYO 2 color packs on the YOYO 3 😉
Reflective wheels for night-time use
One of the best ideas of this new model.
The wheels are now reflective at night, just like traffic signs !
A great idea for evening or early morning rides, to be seen by cars and bikes !
✅ Another excellent idea to reinforce the safety of you and your baby. I can’t agree more than 200%.
A word of clarification: as the wheels are no longer the same, you won’t be able to use YOYO 2 wheel models for the YOYO 3. The same applies to YOYO 3 wheels for YOYO 2.
If you want to change the wheels on your YOYO, you’ll need to choose the right stroller wheels for your model.
A better seat for baby
And yes, you’re not dreaming, even if the YOYO was already very comfortable, version 3 improves baby’s comfort even further with a brand-new seat.
This new seat features :
- a new pillow
- improved stroller ventilation
- a higher backrest
- mesh strap protectors
- a new location for better adjustment of the stroller’s 5-point safety harness.
In general, the baby seat has been lengthened to suit babies who want to keep it longer in the 6+ version!

Improved wheel suspension for better handling
The YOYO 3 stroller features the same 4-wheel suspension (Hytrel® elastomer technology) and “Soft Drive” system as the YOYO 2.
But with adjustments to further improve ride smoothness on different types of terrain.
All of which further enhances baby’s comfort on your travels.
Even if the Stroller was already very comfortable for baby.
I went to Venice with the YOYO 2 stroller.
I can guarantee that vibrations are not a problem !

Is the Stokke YOYO 3 stroller still accepted in the airplane cabin ?
The answer is a resounding YES !
The size of the YOYO 3 remains unchanged, so it’s still accepted as a carry-on stroller on the plane.
HOP in 2 seconds, fold up your stroller and the YOYO will be with you on the plane !
Some airlines consider the YOYO stroller as carry-on baggage, while others offer this supplement if your baby is under 2.
Strollers are also subject to a wide range of specificities depending on the airline.

My opinion on the YOYO 3 from STOKKE
So how does the YOYO 3 compare with the YOYO 2 ?
Well, I already couldn’t recommend Babyzen’s YOYO 2 enough.
Now I can only recommend this new version of the stroller by Stokke.
They’ve managed to improve the world’s best stroller by making it even safer, more practical and more comfortable for you and your baby on a daily basis.
